Biggest loser is out-going President, Koroma
By Tony Opara
The West African nation of Sierra Leone has a new president. He is Julius Maada Bio.
A retired General who had served in the position of military head of state several years back, he ran on the platform of the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party, SLPP and defeated former Foreign Minister, Samura Kamara of the All Peoples Congress, APC.
Analysts say that the biggest loser in the entire process very likely is outgoing President, Ernest Bai Koroma, who had himself come onto the political stage as an outsider but failed to tackle the grave problems of underdevelopment and poor governance in the world’s poorest state.
