You should have gone to Benue, not Davos, Nigerians tell Osinbajo

Nigerians react to Vice President’s tweet
By John Eche
Nigerians have taken to social media to once again denounce the Federal Government’s poor handling of the Fulani herdsmen attacks in Benue State and sundry economic and governance issues.
In their reactions to a status update tweet from Vice President Yemi Osinbajo announcing that he was in Davos, Switzerland, holding discussions with other world leaders on economic matters, they stated that the trip was indeed a collosal waste of time and resources.

I led a team of Ministers to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switizerland.

Today, I participated in recording a video message on the shared future in a fractured world.

Here is a sample of the responses:

Lead a team to Benue state instead….you’re needed there. Don’t you think so????

Will you discuss the killings by herdsmen in Nigeria?

Wow what an achievement. I hope you and your team noticed how there were no cattle colonies scattered around Switzerland and how they take human life seriously over animals. But go ahead and assist in making videos. It’s exactly what we need in Nigeria. Video making.

Waste of resources… who would come and invest in a place where lives and properties don’t matter?

Did you and the ministers notice that there was power and running water in Davos? Have you been kidnapped while there? Did you notice the excellent roads. Hope you learn something before you come back.

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo
