Questions raised over his silence since 2015

The return of Mr. Jimi Agbaje to the political hustings as flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2019 governorship race in Lagos State is being greeted with mixed reactions, The Difference has learnt.
This is after his emergence Friday as the flag-bearer of the party following his defeat of his closest rival for the ticket, Mr. Adedeji Doherty.
Agbaje was also the flag-bearer of the PDP in 2015 and would now slug it out with the likes of APC candidate, Mr. Jide Sanwo-Olu.
Though very well liked by Lagosians, to achieve his long-stated desire to govern the state of his birth, Agbaje would however have to provide very good responses to critics who are at a loss to explain why he had kept silent in the interval between his losing the 2015 polls and now.
For this group, the period in question was particularly one where there had been several issues that required the intervention of strong voices from the opposition. They list these to include the increase in toll fares on the Lekki axis of the state, the land use charge upward review crisis and the demolition of ‘shanty towns’ like Otodo-Gbame.
