By Nsikan Ikpe

Underscoring its ambition to become Africa’s gateway bank, the Nigeria-originating Access Bank has announced the redeployment of its Managing Director at Access Bank, Ghana, Mr. Ifeanyi Njoku who now takes up another role in support of the banking group’s expansion drive.

Similarly, Mr. Olumide Olatunji, an experienced financial services sector player with hands-on experience from at least two of the five regions within the continent has presently moved over to Accra where he would serve as Managing Director at Access Bank (Ghana) Plc.

It will be recalled that only recently, Access Bank had outlined plans for a new expansion drive in line with its five-year strategic growth plan.

Meanwhile, Olatunji’s  appointment has already gotten the nod of the Bank of Ghana.

With some 20 years accumulated experience in the banking sector, Olatunji would be driving the  bank’s corporate strategy of becoming one of Ghana’s leading Banks by 2022.

Before his current posting, he had led the bank’s entire commercial Banking business in Lagos, Nigeria in addition to serving as a Subsidiary Director of Access Bank in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
