Amidst controversies, Nigeria’s ruling party holds congresses

In the midst of festering controversies, Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, APC would be holding its very critical ward congresses this Saturday morning.

 

While the congresses are billed to hold across the country, reports of litigations and logistics inadequacies may however not permit a wholesome conduct.

 

In Delta State for example, there were reports of aspirants not being able to secure nomination forms that would enable them vie for the offices being contested in the session.

 

The ward congresses are the first leg of the chain to get a substantive national executive for the party that would thereafter proceed to conduct and organise the crucial primaries processes to select candidates that will fly the party’s flag in the 2023 polls process.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari is ineligible to run in the 2023 polls.
