Anambra: Last minute frenzy as polls hold Saturday

By Tasie Theodore

There is a last minute frenzy in Anambra State, Nigeria as political gladiators put finishing touches to their preparations for Saturday’s governorship polls, The Difference can report.

The polls process which has been a top news item for weeks is expected to be rounded off with the declaration of a winner by Sunday.

Three front-runners are in the race: Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA; Mr Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

A palpabe sense of relief emerged Thursday when the proscribed but yet quite influential Independent People of Biafra, IPOB announced a halt to its sit-at-home order that analysts say would have cast a pall of sorts on the entire process.
