PDP may emerge second best

If current exit poll trends continue, Willie Obiano, candidate of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, may be headed for a second term in office.
This is according to the summary of field opinions gleamed at the close of polling in the governorship polls that took place on Saturday.
According to our correspondents who monitored the polls in Onitsha, Amawbia and Nnewi, Obiano is likely to be followed in the final votes tally by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obaze Oseloka.
This outcome seems to be corroborated by the findings of the social commentator, Juliet ‘Kego as she posted on her twitter handle:

I visited 17 polling units in total. The exit interviews point towards APGA. Common refrain was on “Continuity”. “Nke a bu nke anyi”. APGA bu party ndi Igbo. PDP is second choice to many too. And, just about everyone I spoke with are against Nwoye for Governor. Reason? His past.’

The final results of the contest are however to be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, with speculations that this process could be concluded in the early hours of Sunday.
