Ghana searches for its champion
By Nsikan Ikpe
It is a testy cup final match in Ghana today as the Kumasi-based Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and the Accra-based Hearts of Oak lock horns at the Tamale Stadium in the finals of the MTN FA Cup.
The contest which features two long-time rivals is set to produce very explosive fireworks in the 90 minutes or more of competitive time.
To get to the final, which is being played at the Tamale Stadium, Kotoko had pipped Premier league side, Medeama FC by a lone goal in the semi-final contest while Hearts of Oak had similarly out-run Wa All-Stars by two goals to one.
If the record of the four contests between both sides this far in the year is anything to go by, then the Accra side has a slight edge having won two of their past four matches, lost one and closed the fourth with a draw. But this is football, and you never really say never!
So we say: May the better side win!
