Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, who recently returned to the fold of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the party at the Wadata Plaza, Abuja, national secretariat of the party which he had helped found in 1998.
Atiku who is widely being expected to attempt to get the party’s nod as its presidential candidate in the 2019 polls, used the opportunity to hold talks with National Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi and to plead with other decampees from the party to return home like he had recently done.
The party, which is presently Nigeria’s principal opposition party holds its national convention in the next few days.
