Awolowo set for burial Nov 25

The burial ceremony of HID Awolowo, is set to begin on November 16 at Ibadan. The burial events are scheduled  to end with a final laying to earth on November  25.

The body of Mrs Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo will first be on displayed at the Tribune Newspapers founder’s day. It will be recalled that Pa Awolowo founded Tribune Newspaper  with  the  support  of HID Awolowo on November  16, 1949.

This position  was stated by the eldest daughter  of the late HID when Obafemi Awolowo  University  students paid the Awolowo  family a condolence visit in their Ikenne, Ogun state residence,  Mrs Omotola Oyediran, the eldest daughter of the late Awolowo  also said that the final burial of HID will take place on November  25.

She also thanked the Obafemi  Awolowo  University  students for finding time to pay the family a courtesy visit despite  their examination  schedules. The eldest daughter  also extended  an invitation to the Students union of OAU for the final burial.

Among those that visited the  Awolowo  family were: Mr Omotayo  Akande (OAU SU President) , the Vice president of the Union,  Public relations  officer  of the Union, Secretary-general  of the Union and the President,  Association of Campus journalists, OAU.
