Police station, not less than five banks affected in incident

A very bloody banks’ robbery incident was recorded at Offa in Kwara State, Nigeria on Thursday, The Difference has learnt.
Eye-witness accounts indicate that the incident which began at about 4.25 pm led to the death of several victims, including some police personnel who were on duty at the Community Police Station, Owode, Offa (which was also targeted by the robbers) and other innocent civilians.
Several other victims suffered varying degrees of injury.
At the close of the day, the robbers were also said to have made away with an unspecified amount of money as they drove out of the scene at about 5.35 pm.
It was gathered that no less than five banks were targets of the robbers even as sources say that some of the wounded and dead could also include staff of the financial institutions.
Police sources could not immediately confirm the number of casualties recorded during the incident but unconfirmed sources say it may not be less than half a dozen.
