Campus journalists hold summit

Nigerian campus editors under the auspices of the National Association of Nigerian campus editors are set to hold a national summit to be hosted by the University of Lagos.
In a statement by the head of publicity of the students body, Lukmon Akintola, he stated that campus editors will be grilled by veteran journalists at the event which is scheduled for 30th January.

According to him, the Premium Times General Editor Mr Festus Owete, Online Editor of TheNation Newspaper, Mr Lekan Otufodunrin and Steve Nwosu, DMD of Daily Sun will be available to speak about the theme, “Campus journalism in the 21st century: issues, prospects and challenges.”
“It is important to note that Nigerian campus editors have a huge role to play in development of Nigeria. Students form the bulk of Nigerians who are also mainly children and youth. So it is important to have writers on campus empowered,” a member of the organizing committee affirmed,
The national orientation agency, NOA is also expected at the event.
The organizers have also said there will be a competition for the best campus editor of year 2015. To facilitate this, Akintola said all interested campus editors will have to send their CV and a published work to campuseditorsguild@gmail.com.
It will be the first time campus editors will be meeting for a national summit in Nigeria.
