Church plans trust fund for Eric Arubayi’s son

The House on the Rock Church, Lagos is set to establish a trust fund to help cater for the educational and growth needs of Jayden, the son of the recently deceased gospel singer, Eric Arubayi.

Disckosing this at the weekly service event at the Rock Cathedral on Sunday, the Senior Pastor, Paul Adefarasin enjoned members to contribute voluntarily to the fund, indicating that he would be doing same also in conjunction with his wife, Pastor Ifeanyi Adefarasin.

‘We have to do everything that we can to give Eric’s son what his father would have wished for him,’ Adefarasin said during the service.

The very talented Eric Jnr, who was the son of Professor Eric Arubayi, a former Vice Chancellor of the Delta State University, Abraka, and his wife, Diana, had died on February 11, 2017 and is survived by his widow, Chinonso, his son, Jayden as well as his siblings and parents.

Until his death, the singer who came to public prominence following his emergence as runner-up in the 2007 West Africa Idols reality music and talent hunt contest that was one by his contemporary, Timi Dakolo, had been a very active member of the House on the Rock”s Chosen Treasure choir ministry which was later renamed the Lagos Metropolitan Gospel Choir, LMGC.

Funeral arrangements as released by his family indicate that he is scheduled to be buried in Delta State on February 25, 2017.
