Concern mounts over Nigeria’s presidential elections
By John Eche
Concern has continued to mount over the likelihood that Nigeria’s scheduled presidential polls may not hold on February 25th after all.
This is despite efforts by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and the Buhari administration to assure Nigerians and the world that the polls proceeding is proceeding a-pace.
Incidentally part of the concern has come from public fears raised by INEC over challenges it was having with the broader Nigerian socio-economic field. Some of the concerns relate to the recent currency redesign which has had the effect of leaving very many Nigerians with access to cash in an essentially cash-based economy and recurring nd continuing challenges in the security arena.
President Muhammadu Buhari is disallowed from running for office in the forthcoming polls.
