#EdoDecides: PDP tasks supporters on vigilance

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has tasked its supporters to ensure maximum vigilance even as the collation of results continues at different levels after the close of voting in Edo State, Saturday.
The party, which thanked its supporters for coming out in large numbers to cast their votes in the polls however say that it is of critical importance that they do not rest on their oars at the critical collation stage where unethical adjustments can still be made to the results that had emanated from the polling booths.
Among the party’s leaders that took to social media to urge supporters to remain vigilant are Governor Nyesom Wike, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and former Anambra Governor, Mr. Peter Obi.
In his own statement, Obi tweeted:
People of Edo, you’ve done well by defying all odds to cast your votes. Now is time for vigilance, to ensure that the ballots are adequately collated and the winner announced accordingly. The defence of our democracy is a collective responsibility. #EdoDecides2020’
The elections had featured Governor Godwin Obaseki of the PDP principally slugging it out with Mr. Osaze Ize Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the contest to determine who would get the popular nod to serve as governor of the state across the next four years.
