Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, has flagged off his first European visit that will see him making stops in France and Germany and also participating in the G20 Investment Summit.

The trip is chiefly at the instance of French President, Emmanuel Macron who is no doubt most impressed with the reform measures that the 42-year old Ahmed has presently instituted in the Horn of African nation.

Prime Minister Ahmed, who was sworn into office in April has since launched a series of reforms that has led to the release of hundreds of political prisoners in the country, boosted peace with long-time neighbouring rivals, Eritrea and enhanced gender relations within the country.

He had earlier made a trip to America where he held talks with US Vice President, Mike Pence.
