#GhanaDecides: Week of decision as polls open

By John Eche

It’s a week of decision as the polls process opens in Ghana with Special Voters already casting their votes ahead of the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Ambulance services workers, media personnel and members of the security services were part of the first set of voters that were permitted to vote in the Special Voters session. A total of 109, 577 voters were expected to participate in the session that took place on Monday.

On the ballot for the prime contest are incumbent President Nana Akufo Addo and his predecessor, John Mahama and a handful of other contenders.

While there is no clear projection on the possible outcome of the contest, a number of pundits are presently inclined towards a Nana-Akufo Addo win.
