Governors Forum, Wike raise alarm over attack on Ortom

The Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF and the Governor of Rivers State, Mr Nyesom Wike have in separate responses expressed deep concern over the reported attack on Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
While the Forum through its Chairman and Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi is promising that everything would be done to bring the culprits to book, the Rivers Governor says that care should be taken to ensure that nothing untoward happens to his Benue State counterpart as that could spell doom for Nigeria as presently constituted.
The incident reportedly took place at the outskirts of the state capital, Makurdi on Saturday.
No formal response has come from the Presidency.
