Concern mounts over poor revenue situation

By John Eche

The poor state of the Osun economy is clearly going to be the chief determining factor in the September 22, 2018 Governorship contest, The Difference has learnt.

With the arrears of workers salaries and pensioners entitlements still running into several months despite successive bailouts from the federal government, feelers are that the ruling All Progressives Congress party, APC is set for a really hard time on the campaign hustings, persuading the people of this essentially civil service enclave to yet return it into office in the crucial polls.

For example, NAN reports that at the last Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting in September, federal, states and local governments shared a total of N637.7 billion.

At the close of the exercise, better endowed states like Lagos got N8.8 billion, Rivers N12.45 billion and Delta N14.2 billion.

For Osun, it was a paltry N1.6 billion
