Leader of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gjajabiamila has asked members of the House of Representatives to solidly support the passage of the 2016 budget as presented to the nation by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a tweet on his Twitter Handle, @femigbaja, the legislator, who fought a bruising battle to emerge as leader of the house after a bruising contest with rivals, described the document as a ‘truly democratic budget.

‘Indeed this is a truly democratic budget. I encourage all members to support its speedy passage. It also intends to block leakages and waste thereby freeing up more funds for budget implementation. #Reps2016BudgetDebate’

The endorsement of the budget by Gbajabiamila would surely come as a reprieve of sorts for the Buhari administration which has continued to battle frayed political nerves from within and outside the ruling All Progressives Congress, where Buhari and Gbajabiamila belong.

Indeed, Gbajabiamila is a noted frontline supporter of APC leader and former Lagos Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had been the single most important rallying point for the party until Buhari’s ascendancy as elected President.
