Kenya braces for presidential elections

The people of the East African nation of Kenya are braced for their forthcoming presidential elections which promises to be an epic contest, The Difference reports.

Leading the pack of contenders are the veteran fighter, Raila Odinga and incumbent Deputy President, William Ruto.

Analysts say it promises to be a very keenly contested exercise given that both men have long been in the trenches ahead of this day while they are also separately hoping to collect their payback for long years of association with outgoing President Uhuru Kenyata.

Kenya is East Africa’s leading economy and expectedly, there is a lot of sub-regional, regional and global interest in the outcome of the polls.

Previous elections in Kenya have been very fiercely contested and all indicators are that the current exercise would not buck that trend.
