The crisis over the defection from the Labour Party to the Peoples Democratic Party of the Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko has presently resulted in confusion and apprehension over the fate of Saturday’s planned convention of the party that he had for seven years been associated with, The Difference has learnt.

While the Labour movement in conjunction with its ally, the Trade Union Congress has since called off the event, the controversy-ridden outgoing chairman of the party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu is insisting that the event would go on as scheduled and in its original venue in Akure.

Meanwhile, the former Secretariat of the party in Akure is now wearing the colours of the new party to which the Governor has defected, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Efforts to get NLC Deputy President, Comrade Issa Aremu to comment on the development qere unsuccessful as at press time.
