South Africa summons US ambassador to explain

A tweet from US President, Donald Trump stating that he had instructed Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo to review the land expropriation scheme in South Africa with a view to taking action on it where necessary has drawn the ire of the South African government which is describing the US President’s position as ill-informed.
Trump is at the moment also caught up in a storm over the conviction of his lawyer and former campaign manager on account of election related malpractice.
The South African Government has stated that it is summoning the US Ambassador to the country to explain the President’s tweet and the context in which it was made.
