Weah has a tough task on his hands

Ex-footballer, George Weah would get his date with history soon as Liberia waits to swear him in as President.

Weah has already secured 62 percent of all votes cast in the presidential rerun contest held on Boxing day with almost all of the votes counted.

A final tally would be released by the National Electoral Commission of Liberia today (Friday)

Meanwhile, the United Nations has presently dispatched Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo as a Special Envoy of its Secretary General to help guarantee a smooth transition.

Another former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan and his Ghanaian counterpart, John Mahama, had also been involved in the elections process as observers.

Observers say that the incoming President really has a tough task on his hand giving the parlous state of the economy and very high expectations within the populace that he is almost literally coming into office  with a magic wand.
