Talks are ongoing over the plan by French President, Emmanuel Macron to visit Nigeria in July.
A hint of this was given by Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama through his twitter handle.
Productive meeting with H.E. Amb. Denys Gauer, Ambassador @FranceAbuja. Putting final touches to upcoming visit of the French President, H.E. President @EmmanuelMacron.’
The French President had left Nigeria out of his earlier whistle-stop visit to the continent in November 2017 which saw him making stops in the West African states of Ghana, Cote D’ Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
The visit would also however be a homecoming of sorts for Macron, who had once worked at the French Embassy in Nigeria.
His official engagements include addressing a joint session of the National Assembly and holding bilateral talks with his Nigerian counterpart.
