Marathon reading exercise approaching the end

A historic Marathon reading exercise in supprt of the reading culture in Nigeria and which is taking place in Yaba, Lagos is now approaching its end, The Difference reports.

 

The activity, which is supported by the CSS Bookshops Limited, the Network of Nook Clubs and Reading Promoters, the Lagos State Government and several other organisations is a Guinness World Record Challenge for the Longest Read-Aloud session by a team.

 

Commencing on December 1, the session is expected to be concluded on Tuesday, December 21.

 

The primary brain child of Bayode Treasures Olawumi and the Read2Build organisation, it invloves five readers taking turns to read non-stop for 20 days. Other than Bayode, the other readers are Zainab Wakil Mustapha, PreciousLight Ukachi, Zainab, Doubra Yeri and Maryam Abba Sadu. Bayode had successfully concluded a solo challenge in 2018 ater which he was to be named a reading ambassador for Lagos State.
