Obadiah Malaifia released by DSS

By John Eche

Former CBN Chief, Obadiah Malaifia who had been invited for questioning by the Department of State Security, DSS has now been released, The Difference has confirmed.

His release followed several hours of questioning by operatives of the security service at its offices in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.

He had reportedly made statements in a radio interview, where among other remarks, he had alleged that a governor in one of the Northern States was privy to the operations of insurgents that were creating security problems for citizens in several communities across the country

There had been calls for his release from several quarters, with many of the voices insisting that the security crisis in the country was hydra-headed and that detaining him was not the comprehensive measure needed to address the challenge.
