Courtesy of his publishers, Bookcraftafrica, the U.S-based Nigerian writer, Professor Okey Ndibe has been touring Nigeria on a promotional campaign for his new book, Never Look an American in the Eye.

Already, there have been stops in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Enugu and generally, the events have been very well-patronised.

One of the Lagos events for example was held at the Goethe Institut while the Enugu event had among others, former CBN Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and erudite scholar, Professor Okwudiba Nnoli in attendance and participating.

Today, Saturday, the train moves to Awka, the capital of Anambra State where Okey Ndibe, who is also the author of the novels, Foreign Gods, Inc and Arrows of Rain, would be reading to the assembled audience at the Havila Suites.

At least three more readings are scheduled for the cities of Abuja, Lagos and Ibadan before the tour comes to a close at the end of the month.

A Shearing Fellow at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Ndibe is also a most prolific public commentator and essayist.
