By Senate orders withdrawal of police from premises

Outrage has greeted the invasion of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly by a minority segment of about five members acting in concert allegedly with security agents.
Sources say that the target of the ‘assailants; is to impeach the Speaker and thereafter the governor.
In its response, the Senate has ordered the police to vacate the premises of the State House of Assembly and stop preventing lawfully elected legislators from doing their jobs.
