Abe, Shehu Sani leave; Amosun, Ambode may follow
By Akpo Ometan
A rash of political defections has reportedly gripped Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Arising out of the spate of crises that has gripped the party since the conclusion of its primaries to pick candidates for the 2019 polls, the defections fever has reportedly now gripped two of its leading senators, Magnus Abe and Shehu Sani.
Political watchers infer that several other high-wire defections from the party may yet follow given that the acrimony raised in the disputed primaries process are yet to be satisfactorily resolved.
Among those being named as likely to ditch the party anytime soon are Governors Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos.
Both men have however in the past denied insinuations of their leaving.
