Rohr, Eagles coach under fire after AFCON tie

By Tasie Theodore

Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Mr. Gernot Rohr has come under fresh fire on account of the disappointing performance of the national team in the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifiers.

The coach of the team, which struggled through two back-to-back draws against their Sierra Leonean rivals in the past few days, has attracted the ire of many fans in the football-loving nation.

While the first encounter which took place last weekend in Lagos ended with three goals apiece, the second leg was also a draw encounter, but this time, goalless.

Might be time for Nig to go the Algerian way. They appointed Bemaldi and there was a complete turnaround for the Foxes. Dare to appoint Emmanuel Amunike, give him all the support & a free hand then watch Eagles revive! Thank me later’

The Super Eagles (32nd in the world) couldn’t defeat a Sierra Lone side ranked 120th in the world over two legs, yet Gernot Rohr still has a job? We play too much in this country, walahi. #AFCON2021Q‘
