Pharoahs are best African team and Cuper the coach!

LIverpool FC player and Egyptian international, Mohamed Salah has been named the African Player of the Year 2017 at the #AiteoCAFawards that was held Thursday night at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana.
Other winners were Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria who bagged the Women’s Player of the year award, and Coach Hector Cuper of Egypt and his team the Pharoahs, who collected the best coach and best team awards respectively.
The Pharoahs, who ended a 28-year wait to make another appearance at the World Cup at the close of 2017, beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon to the award. They had also been finalists in the African Cup of Nations, AFCON.
On her part, Oshoala who has played for Liverpool and Arsenal Ladies, is winning the award for the third time.
President Nana Akufo-Addo, Liberia’s in-coming President George Oppong Weah, Didier Drogba, Kanu Nwankwo, Emmanuel Amuneke, Victor Ikpeba and a slew of other notable current and ex-footballers were also in attendance at the star-studded event.
