Customs, Army partner for improved security in Imo State

Bukar Amajam, the Area Comptroller of the Zone C Command of The Federal Operations Unit Owerri, of the Nigeria Customs Service says the service is ready to partner with the Nigerian Army in the security management of the state.
The Area Comptroller, Bukar Amajam stated this when the service played host to the Brigade Commander 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Owerri, Brig. Gen. Hamza Bature and members of his entourage.
Amajam who expressed delight at the visit said collaboration with other sister agencies was critical to the success of anti-smuggling activities in the zone.
The Comptroller presented enlightenment materials of the NCS to the Brigade Commander and called on other security agencies to complement each other’s efforts while achieving their different mandates.
Earlier, Brig. Gen. Bature said his visit was to familiarize with the federal operations unit of the customs in Owerri as one of the critical stakeholders in security management of the state and nation at large.
He commended the anti-smuggling activities of the zone which he said had helped to checkmate the influx of offensive weapons into the society.
He also commended the service for boosting the economy of the nation through revenue generation.
Bature said that all security agencies are relevant in the maintenance of safety and security in the state.
He called on all security agencies in the state to join hands in integrated efforts to ensure the peace, safety and security of the state and the nation.
