Three days of tremors and rainfall in Nigeria’s prime cities of Abuja and Lagos is raising concerns for residents.

While the authorities are reassuring people that they should remain calm but vigilant, many are however bothered as to the origins and possible effects of these climate-related situations.

Public officials are not left out in voicing their concerns.

We have all been feeling the earth tremors in Abuja and surrounding areas over the last 48 hours. I know that many people are scared, but please, remain calm and vigilant.

At this time, it is important that , FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and all emergency services be on high alert to prevent the loss of lives and property.

Underscoring widespread concern and interest in the subject, the FCT Emergency Management Agency, #FEMA, which had offered counsel on what residents should do at this time was trending on twitter, Friday morning.
