Meeting held behind closed doors

President George Oppong Weah of Liberia has in the nation’s capital, Monrovia, held a closed door meeting with opposition political leaders in the country to solicit their support for his administration and the nation.
Parties represented at the parley include the Unity Party, Liberty Party, the Alternative National Congress, All Liberian Party, People’s Unification Party and the Liberia National Union.
Others are the Liberia Transformation Party, the New Liberia Party and the Movement for Progressive Change.
A former international soccer star, Weah was elected President earlier in the year after two rounds of balloting. He succeeded Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who had served out her maximum two terms in office.
