It is already looking like it will definitely be a week of ‘long knives’ for the embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

This is coming on the heels of claims by the former Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Representative Abdulmumin Jibrin, that he has already submitted damning and incriminating evidence on his allegations that Dogara and other principal officers had put pressure on him to ‘pad’ the 20q6 budget to the anti-graft agencies.

Mr Jibrin’s statement comes as part of evidences to back his allegations on padding of the 2016 budget by the House of Representatives.

He told Channels Television in an interview that some of the documents would definitely indict some of his colleagues he had mentioned in the padding saga.

The lawmaker said that he has also called for enhanced security of the appropriation office and his office at the National Assembly where more indicting documents, he claimed, are yet domiciled.

He expressed readiness to help fight corruption in the National Assembly.

meanwhile, officials of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) had on Saturday, sealed the Office of the House Committee on Appropriation.

This move by the DSS is believed to prevent any attempt to tamper with documents in the office of the Appropriation Committee.

However, Lagos lawyer, Mr Femi Falana, SAN has cautioned the DSS from over-stepping its remit in the ongoing controversy even as many await the intervention of the Attorney Genral of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN.
