Lavish praise heaped on the Almighty God for miraculous preservation
By Tajudeen Hamzat
It was a very lavish expression of praise and gratitude to the Almighty God as the Publisher of Hallmark Newspaper, Prince Emeka Obasi presented his new book of reflections, Saved for His Praise, to a robust audience in Lagos, Saturday.
The text is a chronicle of the author’s battle with a debilitating medical infirmity that has defied regular medical treatment and which has seen very high-level spiritual intercession for healing by numerous men of God. They include Pastor Wole Oladiyun of CLAM, Pastor D.K Olukoya of MFM and Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
Couched in the mould of a testimonial, the book also goes on to explore the life’s struggles of the author over time, including his more recent conflicts with particularly, his immediate and extended family members.
Another core theme of the book is its critique of the aberrant practice of fake prophecies, which the author notes has now become a real point of concern for the church in Nigeria. Indeed, it is the interface between this practice and its connection with the rest of the events in the book that provides the basic frame for the author’s narration of events in the book.
Among the guests that graced the launch occasion were former Anambra and Ondo State Governors, Peter Obi and Olusegun Mimiko, the Central Bank Board Member, Mr. Ernest Ebi and the former Managing Director of Diamond Bank, Mr. Emeka Onwuka. Others included former Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi and Prof and Mrs Anya O. Anya.
