Wikimedia Nigeria gets new Executive Director

A new Executive Director has been appointed for the Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation Inc., The Difference has learnt.


According to a statement from the foundation that coordinates the activities of the online data platform, Wikipedia, in Nigeria, the new Executive Director of Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation Inc. is Mrs. Omolayo Ogunsiji.


Holder of a diploma in Social Works and a B.Sc in International Studies and Diplomacy, both from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo state, she also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. In addition to these, Ogunsiji has equally attended various leadership and mentorship courses within the country.


Aside from her academic qualifications, as a social entrepreneur, Ogunsiji runs a project called “A Book in My Name” .it provides books for public schools in Lagos. She also manages ‘LAHYOURS TOTAL PARTY SUPPORT AND SERVICES, an outfit focused on event management and catering services and training. Indeed, a prodiguous enterpreneur, she equally runs BEAUTIFUL HOMES ET AL, an interior design and decorations outfit with clientele spread across the length and breadth of the country.


Before venturing into running her own business projects, Ogunsiji had worked as a Customer Service Executive at ARTEE INDUSTRIES LIMITED (PARK & SHOP) in Victoria Island and FASTMAIL LIMITED. It was thereafter that she moved to SFICO NIGERIA LIMITED as Business Manager before finally taking the plunge into running her own private ventures.
