Zimbabwe polls: ZANU-PF gets parliamentary majority


Tense wait for outcome of presidential contest

The ruling ZANU-PF has secured 109 parliamentary seats compared to 41 by the leading opposition grouping, the MDC in Zimbabwe’s General Elections, an announcement from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has disclosed.

Meanwhile there is a tense wait in the country for the outcome of the presidential poll where the duo of Emmerson Mnangagwa of ZANU-PF and Nelson Chamisa of the MDC are front-runners.
